DANIDA B2B PROGRAM

Since the later part of 1999 Danida has provided assistance to the private sector through its B2B programme.

Objective
The overall objective of the Danida B2B Programme in Bangladesh is to contribute to the economic and social development of Bangladesh by attracting Danish technology and investment to the country's private sector. B2B Programme supports the establishment of profitable, long-term and mutually binding business-to-business co-operations between Bangladeshi and Danish companies that will continue even after support from the B2B Programme ceases.

Since the year 2000, the B2B Programme has helped establish 68 long-term commercial partnerships with substantial technology transfer within specific areas of business such as:

The majority of Danida supported B2B collaborations have been pioneers in their areas of business. They have introduced innovations that have demonstrated to the business community that Bangladesh is capable of establishing new businesses in sophisticated and advanced fields that were earlier not considered possible.

Methods of B2B Support
The B2B Programme offers support to companies in three phases: the Contact Phase, the Pilot Phase, and the Project Phase.

The Contact Phase

In the Contact Phase, the first contacts are made. The B2B Programme can assist in identifying potential partners both in Denmark and B2B countries. Candidates for partnerships can apply for support for one or more introductory visits. Potential partners can also apply for support for a pre-investment meeting and/or cultural workshop.

The Pilot Phase

In the Pilot Phase, a study may be conducted and/or a pilot project implemented, for example to test the cooperation and to carry out training. The purpose of this phase is to explore the commercial basis for cooperation, to assess the needs for training, to implement environmental measures, and to promote corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The Project Phase

In the Project Phase, the B2B Programme can support the actual implementation of the project, including training and technical assistance, environmental measures, and other measures of CSR. The maximum level of support is DKK 5 million, including previous support.
